So whats happend since i got it? First thing me and a few mates did only 2 weeks after purchase, was fit all this: Airtec FMIC: BC BRs: Evolve Decat: And a G-Wing: I then did MINIs take over Goodwood in November: Not much else happened for a while, until i broke the rear wishbone, threaded it. So off to Millsys it went. While it was there, i had all this put on: Challenge Diffuser: Green and Gold Coolerworx Shifter (hence the Project Title): I also managed to source a Challenge Rear Wing too: Then for my birthday this year, my missus got me some 3D plates for my personalised number plate. I fitted them using magnets for ease of taking off and on! Plus i didn't want to drill holes in the plates as they look amazing: I then found a set of Team Dynamics Imolas from someone we all know! However in the mean time, i managed to snap ANOTHER rear shock, so Millsy to bail me out once again on Friday! I also pick the challenge wing back up from being painted on Thursday, so everything will be ready for MITP!!! Which brings us to where the car is now!
That is one sexy shifter, it makes me miss my CAE. How good is @millsy tho, he's saved my bacon many times!
It does look bloody good. The colour combination actually works really well, considering i came across it messing around the the gold knobs at the Autosports show! That man is my savior i'm not going to lie.
You got the preload set up correctly? Never had any of these problems on R53 BCs but it seems to be a completely different ballgame with the R56 version. Not a single knock.
I think that’s what Millsy will have a look at now. We just put the first break being down to age, but now there must be another reason!
I hope for your sake this doesn’t actually happen if it does then I have all the tools at mine and I’m down the road...
Cheers! I’m adtuakly tempted to bring the standard shock with me to be honest. I don’t trust BCs anymore!
Man thats bad luck with the top mounts. Not seen many problems before. I ran R56 BC's on my Clubby for a couple of years with no issues, also had them on a couple of other cars without a knock or issues with top mounts.
@BenCambray have you used the magnets on the plate for the front bumper too? If so, how did you set up the metal pieces?
